Dependent Scholarship Application

Important! Before You Begin

Scholarship applications require several documents to be included.

If you currently have or can access some or all of these documents in a digital file format, you may attach them to this application submission.

You can also choose to complete the application with some or none of these files and submit them at a later date. You will receive a link in the confirmation email you receive after submitting your application along with additional instructions.

All required files must be submitted by the deadline to qualify for scholarship consideration.

Following is the list of required files:

  • High School Transcript or ACT/SAT Scores (First time applicants only)
  • College Degree Plan (First time applicants only)
  • College Record of Previous Semester College Grades (Returning applicants only)
  • Upcoming Semester Enrollment Schedule with 12 or more credit hours (All applicants)
  • College Account Statement detailing semester costs and any financial aid (All applicants)
  • Employee IRS Form 1040 for Previous Tax Year (First page only)

Dependents of WEC employees are eligible at the beginning of each fall and spring semester.

  • Applications are accepted from September 1st thru 15th for the fall semester and January 16th thru 31st for the spring semester.
  • Scholarships are not awarded for summer sessions.

An employee must have completed two years of service by the beginning of the semester for dependents to be eligible.

  • If employment with Warren Equipment terminates, the dependent scholarship will be forfeited.

  • In order for dependents just beginning college to qualify, they must graduate from high school with.
    • At least a “B” average, or;
    • Score a minimum of 833 on the SAT, or;
    • Score a minimum of 15 on the ACT
  • College students must have had a minimum 2.5 GPA the previous semester and a 2.5 cumulative GPA in order to remain eligible. Each semester the student must apply and be re-evaluated.
    • If a student’s ends the current semester with a GPA below a 2.5, then they are not eligible for the scholarship program the next semester. Once their semester and cumulative GPA is 2.5 or above, then they will be eligible apply for scholarship the following semester
  • Scholarships apply to classes leading to an undergraduate degree from any accredited academic community college, 4 year accredited academic college, university, or trade school.
  • A student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours to receive the scholarship.
    • If students fail to complete a minimum of 12 credit hours, they are not eligible to participate in the program for the next semester.

Scholarships cover the cost of tuition and fees as well as book costs. Scholarships will be paid each semester upon receipt and approval of the submitted application less any other grants/scholarships paid to the student. Scholarships do not cover fees for:

  • Orientation
  • Parking
  • Athletic or optional activity fees
  • Yearbooks
  • Supplies and equipment other than books

Students will be eligible for the scholarship for 5 years immediately following high school graduation only.

Expenses must total a minimum of $250.00 per student for the fall or spring semesters before an award will be made.

The deadline for the Spring Semester application has passed.
Application windows are January 16 – 31 for the Spring Semester and September 1-15 for the Fall Semester.
