401k with Bank of Oklahoma
The WEC 401(k) retirement plan, administered by the Bank of Oklahoma, allows you to build your savings using tax-deferred paycheck contributions. To help you start saving immediately, all employees are automatically enrolled on their first day of employment at a 6% pre-tax contribution rate. You maintain full control over your savings and can adjust this rate at any time by navigating to the Life Events page in WEC Life.
WEC supports your retirement goals by providing an immediate 50% match on your contributions, up to 6% of your total pay. Additionally, the company may match the remaining 50% at year-end through a profit-sharing contribution, subject to annual approval.
Bank of Oklahoma offers a variety of 401(k) plan options, including:
Traditional 401(k): This is the most common type of 401(k) plan. With a traditional 401(k), you contribute money from your paycheck before taxes are taken out. Your contributions grow tax-deferred until you withdraw them in retirement, at which point you will pay taxes on the withdrawals.
Roth 401(k): With a Roth 401(k), you contribute money from your paycheck after taxes are taken out. Your contributions grow tax-free until you withdraw them in retirement, at which point you will not pay taxes on the withdrawals.
Bank of Oklahoma also offers a variety of investment options for your 401(k) plan, including mutual funds, target-date funds, and individual stocks and bonds. You can choose the investment options that best meet your individual investment goals and risk tolerance.
Hardship withdrawals and loans are also available by visiting the BOK StartRight site.
